Asistia was founded Santiago Saviñón, and was a company based out of Mexico. According to Santiago’s profile, Asistia was the first, online, marketplace for families that needed help managing a family member’s home care. While operating, they had over 500 nurses, in just 18 months, and built an automated shift assignment software for the services. They claim to have taken care of over 350 families, and provided more than 200,000 hours of care. This is some impressive numbers! They raised capital from 500 Startups, a top accelerator, and other investors. They were later acquired by a regional competitor in 2017.
-Asistia claimed to certify 100% of their nurses, which makes it easier for your family to trust the healthcare provider being sent to take care of your loved one. They ask you to simply tell them what you need, and when you need it, and they claim to be able to find the perfect caregiver, nurse, for your family. From what our team could determine, it doesn’t seem like they could do doctors or other healthcare providers besides nurses, etc. By certifying 100% of their associates, Asistia claims to make the home healthcare marketplace safer and easier for family members. By using their proprietary technology, they are able to operate more effectively and efficiently. They have more control than traditional nursing agencies, and can provide better prices and better income. They claim their revolutionary platform is an integral solution, which effectively allows an entire family member’s care to be conducted and monitored in real time.
Their goal is to create a SAAS platform which can be scalable and deployable nationwide. Ideally, it means creating a scalable software. They’ve taken business loans from some noteworthy VC funds, and major companies like Ondeck.
